Choose & Book - Specialist Minor Surgery Clinic

The Marine & Oakridge Partnership Minor specialist surgery clinic at Marine surgery Dr John Harris BM Dr Harris provides a weekly clinic for minor specialist surgery, the clinic is held at Marine surgery, 29 Belle Vue Road, Southbourne, Bournemouth BH6 3DB. Experience Dr Harris qualified from Southampton University in 1982 and continued his training and experience with rotations in Ophthalmology and Dermatology carrying out weekly minor operations in both specialities. In 1989 he became a GP Registrar at this practice to Dr M Freeth, senior partner at that time. During this time he undertook a research project looking at the role of shave/cautery in general practice. Dr Harris has been a GP Principal with The Marine & Oakridge Partnership since qualifying as a general practitioner in 1990. Between 1990-1993 he was also Clinical Assistant in General Surgery under Mr S Darke at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Boscombe and between 1995-2006 Clinical Assistant/Hospital Practitioner in the Dermatology department at Christchurch Hospital under Dr P Goodwin. Since joining The Marine & Oakridge Partnership in 1990 Dr Harris has carried out weekly minor operations both at the practice and in the aforementioned clinical roles at local hospitals. Conditions seen in this clinic are for example: - Excision/biopsy of skin lesions, moles, cysts, small lumps and bumps. Your GP will have more detailed information on the type of conditions treated. The clinic is available for your GP to refer you to via the NHS Choose & Book service. You will then be able to choose when you would like to attend for an appointment.
