Academic Half Days

As part of an on0going educational programme the doctors from this practice attend Academic Half Days throughout the year.  These events are always held in the afternoon.  On the Academic Half Day afternoons our out of hours provider, Emdoc, cover for medical emergencies.  Patients who require an emergency consultation (either by telephone with a doctor, or in person at the Emdoc base or a home visit) should telephone the surgery as normal and our staff will advise them of the telephone number for Emdoc.

Blood tests for patients of Station Road Surgery at Addington Road Health Centre

Due to the fact that we have unfortunately not been able to create space to provide a blood taking service (phelbotomy) at this surgery, we have commissioned Bromley Healthcare to provide this service for our patients at Addington Road Health Centre.  This is not part of Addington Road Surgery.

The phlebotomy clinic for Station Road Surgery patients is between 9.30 and 10.30 on a Wednesday morning, by appointment.  Details of this service, and those provided at the local hospitals, are printed at the bottom of the blood test forms given or sent out by the practice.  The phone number to book an appointment to have blood taken at Addington Road is 020 8857 6028.  It is not a "walk in" service.  If more patients from our surgery use this service they will extend the clinic times for us.

NHS Health Checks

We are now offering an NHS Health Check for patients in the age group 40-74 years, who have no history of heart disease, heart failure, stroke, atrial fibrillation, hypertension, diabetes or chronic kidney disease and are not taking any heart medication.  We will be sending out invitations to eligible patients, but if you fall into this criteria and wish to have a Health Check, please contact the surgery and request an appointment for an NHS Health Check with our Health Care Assistant, Vivienne Green.

Appointments

We have increased our opening hours in order to accommodate those patients who are unable to attend the surgery during normal opening hours.

We have early appointments available on Monday, Thursday and Friday mornings between 7.00am and 8.00am and on Saturday mornings between 8.00am and 11.15am.

These appointments, like the normal appointments, can be booked up to four weeks in advance.  We do keep some back and release them 48 working hours before the day to provide earlier access to a GP.

We hope this will provide better access to our GP's.  We would be grateful if patients could let us know if they do not need their appointments as soon as possible please, then these appointments can be released for other patients who do need to see a doctor.

Thank you.

On-line booking of appointments

We are now able to offer the opportunity to book appointments through the internet.  If you would like more information about this service please ask for an information sheet at Reception or you can access the information sheet through the uploads section of this site.  The sheet is called "Internet booking" and contains a Terms and Conditions page which can be printed and brought to the Surgery when you enquire to use the service.  The Receptionist will print a page containing your unique login details, which you must keep safe.

You can log into the Emis Access website at https://www.emisaccess.co.uk to register and begin using the service.

We hope this service will improve access to appointments for those patients who find it difficult to telephone the Surgery.
