New appointments system

The practice has listened to its patients and has changed its appointments system .

We now offer bookable face to face, as well as telephone appointments, with the doctor.  When telephoning the surgery the receptionist will ask whether your problem can be dealt with over the telephone or whether you need a face to face appointment.  Appointments are only available on the day from 8.00am so please telephone early.

These appointments are also available to book on line but you need to register for Patient Access first. For further information please go to: http://www.patient.co.uk/surgery.asp

Posting comments on the website

We always welcome comments and feedback from our patients so we can improve our services. As comments and reviews posted on this site are generally anonymous and, as patients do not contact the Practice direct when invited after we reply to the comment, we cannot deal constructively with the issues. If you post a comment and are not happy with the service, please contact either the Office Manager or Practice Manager direct so that we can investigate the matter fully and hopefully resolve any issues and improve the service we provide for you.

New Appointment System from 1st May 2014

From Thursday 1st May 2014 our appointment system is changing to improve our service.

Walk-in appointments with the Doctors will no longer be available

For appointments with the Doctors you can call the Surgery in exactly the same way.  Our reception staff will take your name and make sure they have your correct telephone number.  They will ask you in confidence what is the nature of the problem.  You do not have to say, but it is helpful to the doctor who will call you back on the phone as you will be initially allocated a telephone appointment.

How soon will the Doctor call?

The Doctor will call as soon as possible, so please stay in or stay with your phone.

What happens when the Doctor calls?

The Doctor will discuss the problem with you and work out what to do next.  You may want advice or a prescription, or you may need to come in.  The Doctor will arrange an appointment if you need to be seen. Usually this will be the same day, but you can ask for a later day if you wish.

Do I need to call early?

No, the service is exactly the same whatever time you call.  There is often a rush at the start of the day, so you may find a quicker response later on.

How does this help patients?

It cuts down the wait to see a Doctor.

It saves the frustration of not getting through.

It avoids wasted time coming into the Surgery when you don’t need to.

Already over 500,000 patients enjoy this new system all around the country.
