Latest news

Dr Jean-Anne Evers retires after 26 years at the surgery.

Qualified in Edinburgh, Dr Jean-Anne Evers joined the practice in 1983, working two mornings per week while her family was young.  She quickly gave the practice that extra dimension of expertise in women’s health, when many practices were without a lady in their team.

During the establishment of her own career in the practice, she combined her medicine with being mum to her three daughters, Rachel, Helen and Christine.  She is now a very proud granny, and I am sure this new role will feature prominently in her retirement. Rachel, her eldest daughter, has recently qualified from the Peninsula Medical School, so the Evers tradition of medicine continues for a third generation (since Jean-Anne’s mum was also a GP).

For 26 years Jean-Anne flourished in the practice and during that time became a partner and key member of the practice team.  A very versatile lady, she learned to play the guitar, started painting, and did some competitive horse-riding, as well as being a GP and a mum.

A great colleague and popular with all her patients, she will be greatly missed. We wish her a long, healthy and fulfilling retirement.
