Welcome to St Georges Medical Practice

St Georges Surgery is  aiming to improve the services we provide and welcome feedback from patients and service users as to how we can develop the surgery

We are pleased to announce that following feedback from patients, we have commenced a walk-in blood test session on a Wednesday morning from 8.30am to 10am. Patients who have been asked to attend for a blood test may walk in between those times without an appointment and book in with reception. Obviously  demand varies but we will aim not to keep our patients waiting longer than we have to.

Ruth Rice our respiratory nurse now spends two days a week at St Georges to cater for our asthmatic and COPD patients. She can now also fit and remove contraceptive implants.

Please keep your feedback coming in- we want to see  our three and a half stars improve even further!

NHS Health Checks Open day

On Saturday 7th June Worle Medical Practice opened it’s doors to a selected group of patients who were not usually seen in the practice.

The patient representative group from Worle, led by the chairman Neil Turner were there to meet and greet and help co-ordinate a ‘preventive medicine’ programme, which started with an NHS Health Check for each patient.

Following on from this, patients received information and a talk from Angela Amys, the nurse prescriber, on lifestyle, preventing high blood pressure and reducing cholesterol. Ruth Rice, the respiratory nurse also gave information on asthma.

The staff and patients thoroughly enjoyed the day and it was nice seeing patients who were keen on improving their health in order to avoid a visit to the GP!

As a result of really positive feedback, we intend to continue these open days on a quarterly basis and focus on different health topics. The next open day event will hopefully be held in St Georges surgery in September-watch this space...

He is joined by Dr Elizabeth Doyle who whilst full time, is shared with our sister Practice in Worle. Dr Doyle joins us from a Practice in the West Midlands and has an interest in Family Planning and Sexual health. Dr Doyle will be working Mondays and Wednesdays.
