Overview

Infection control - above everything else we do

Our Trust runs hospitals for South East London, communities living in the London Boroughs of Bexley, Bromley and Greenwich. We serve over a million people, employ over 6,000 staff and have an annual budget of over £400million making us one of the largest NHS hospital trusts in the country.

In the past 12 months, we have reduced mortality rates, continued to maintain low rates of hospital-acquired infections, made significant improvements to maternity, and established a new specialist centre for stroke care.

Departments and services

The Trust runs two full Emergency Departments at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Woolwich and Princess Royal University Hospital Orpington. In addtion, there is a 24/7 Urgent Care Centre at Queen Mary's treating all minor injuries. X-rays and other diagnostic testing services remain at Queen Mary's.

Children and Young People's Assessment Unit

If your child's condition is not life-threatening, you can now come to the Children and Young People's Assessment Unit at Queen Mary's Sidcup and have your child seen by specially trained children's doctors and nurses or at the Urgent Care Centre.
