Bringing children to Lister Hospital

  • Baby changing facility
  • Children's play area
  • Parent and child parking
  • Parent and baby room
  • Pram park

We always advise that unless children are being brought for an appointment or in an emergency themselves, we suggest not to bring them to busy hospitals like the Lister.  We do have baby changing facilities, with play areas in those departments that care for children specifically.

Counselling and Support

  • Bereavement support

Our chapliancy service provides support, including for bereavements, to our patients, their families/carers and our staff.  To contact one of our chaplains, just call our main switchboard - 01438 314333.

We also provide translation services - details of how to arrange for this to happen are provided on appointment letters, as well as from ward staff.  Except in emergencies, translation assistance should always be requested in advance.

Our chaplains offer a confidential ear to all and are not only here for churchgoers or people who are religious.

Coming into hospital can be a worrying experience, and the chaplains, as part of the hospital staff, have particular responsibilities for the spiritual care of patients, their families and friends.

A member of the Trust’s chaplaincy team is available 24-hours a day. Staff can contact them on behalf of a patient or visitor through a long-range pager service, via the switchboard.
