Asthma Clinic

Appointments for Asthma checks can be booked at a mutually convenient time with our Nurse Practitioner. We encourage patients with Asthma to have an annual check.

Baby clinic with health visitor

We hold a baby clinic here at the surgery every Wednesday morning with the Health Visitor between 11.00am - 12.45 pm. Please check with reception that the clinic is running. This is a drop in clinic. All parents with babies are welcome.The Health Visitor can be contacted at other times via the surgery reception.

Child health and development

Appointments can be booked with your doctor at a mutually convenient time.

Child Immunisations

Appointments for your child's immunisations can be booked with the Practice Nurse at a mutually convenient time. Please remember to bring your child's red book to all immunisation appointments.

COPD clinic with spirometry

Patients with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) are encouraged to have an annual review with one of the Practice Nurses. This includes a spirometry (lung function) test. Spirometry is done in a special clinic so please ensure the reception know you need spirometry when you book your appointment.

Dressings clinic (nurse led)

Dressings are carried out by our Practice Nurses. Please book with the Practice Nurse. If your dressing is complex (eg compression dressings) then please tell reception so that we can book an appopriate length of appointment for you.

Drug and alcohol Services

We run a Substitute Prescribing clinic every day in conjunction with a sustance misuse nurse specialist. You wil need to be Ffuly assessed first by CADAS first. For alcohol addiction you will also need to be assessed by CADAS first. CADAS telephone number is 01305 779706 or they can be found at Weymouth Community Hospital, 3 Melcombe Ave.

Learning disability health check

This is an annual health check usually by appointment. Letters are sent to patients inviting them to attend. Currently Dr Knight has responsibility for carrying out these reviews

Minor surgery (e.g. removal of moles and skin lesions) - provided in-house

We do simple minor surgery proceedures for some skin conditions at the surgery. You will need to be assessed by your GP first to discuss the proceedure and what is best for you.

Phlebotomy

We have a phlebotomist/ health care assistant who takes our blood tests. You can book in directly to see her if you know what bloods are needed. If not then please see the doctor to decide which tests you may need

Primary care counselling service

We have a councellor who works as part of the "Steps to Wellbeing" team. You will need to be assessed by that team first. This can be done by self referral often after discussing your symptoms with the doctor or nurse practitioner

Travel health with yellow fever

We offer a travel health service with our practice nurse . This can be booked at reception. There are some forms to fill in prior to seeing the nurse which will help to save time and help the nurse to decide what you need.

Electronic Prescription Service

This GP offers the Electronic Prescription Service, which allows you to choose or "nominate" a pharmacy to get your medicines or appliances from. Your GP then sends your prescription electronically to the place you nominated. this means:

  • If you collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription, saving time.
  • You will have more choice about where to get your medicines from because they can be collected from a pharmacy near to where you live, work or shop.
  • You may not have to wait as long as your repeat prescriptions could be prepared before you arrive.
