We do close once a month on a Tuesday lunchtime between 12 noon and 1pm. The telephone messaging service gives details of how to contact a GP in an emergency if you are unable to wait for the surgery to re-open. This hour is used for the GP's, Practice Nurses and Admin Team to receive educational training. We do invite speakers in to give talks and presentations. We have met with Healthwatch, Osteoarthritis Speaker, CPR, (resuscitation) and use of the defibrillator, we invited The Memory Clinic to speak with the Doctors and Nurses, they discussed screening and diagnosis of dementia patients, drug management of dementia patients and the complications of prescribing it. The Admin Team did their own Dementia Awareness Training with the Manager/RGN of a local Nursing Home specialising in Dementia Care. All Admin staff are now "Dementia Friends". Three times a year we close for a whole afternoon, this is so the whole practice can receive educational training on a larger scale.This training maybe on site or off site. This is in line with all Shrewsbury Practices. Contact details for emergency contacts are on the telephone messaging service.

Accountable GP

Allocation of Accountable GP

By March 2016, it is a requirement of all GP surgeries to allocate an accountable GP to each registered patient. This process is already underway and over the coming months we will be informing all patients, of who their accountable GP is.

Regardless of who your accountable GP is, patients are still welcome to see any GP within our practice.
