About our hospital

The aim of Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust is to deliver general and specialist acute hospital services that are demonstrably of the highest quality nationally, in terms of speed, access, quality of patient experience and excellence in clinical outcomes. We provide a comprehensive ophthalmology service at the Sussex Eye Hospital (Brighton) with satellite clinics held at the Princess Royal Hospital (Haywards Heath). Currently, all operations are performed at the main hospital in Brighton. Our Ophthalmology Services comprise - - Cataract - Glaucoma - Age-related macular degeneration - Diabetic eye disease - Lid, oculoplastic and ophthalmic recontructive surgery - Paediatric ophthalmology - Neuro-ophthalmology - Orthoptics - Vitreo-retinal surgery - Corneal service - Low vision service - 24-hour ophthalmic accident and emergency.

What I liked:: I have been a patient at the hospital 3 times now and each time I have been completely impressed by the level of care, time and treatment. All the staff - doctors, nurses, admin....all have been unfailingly human. I have been treated both as an outpatient and twice as an inpatient requiring surgery.

If all hospitals were run like this, we wouldhave the best health service in the world. Thank you to all.
