Friends and Family test score - Inpatient
What this data shows:
This shows the result of the friends and family test for inpatients that asks patients whether they would recommend the ward they have been treated in to friends and family if they needed similar care and treatment.
How the data is gathered:
NHS trusts are required to survey patients within 48 hours of discharge from hospital, and ask them: ‘How likely are you to recommend our hospital to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?’ Patients can choose from six responses:
- Extremely likely
- Likely
- Neither likely nor unlikely
- Unlikely
- Extremely unlikely
- Don’t know
The responses from all patients are used to calculate the percentage of patients that would recommend (extreme likely + likely) the service
Although the data is useful for helping patients make informed decisions about their care when used alongside other available information about hospitals, it is not directly comparable between hospitals due to the differing methodologies used to collect the data.
This data is taken from NHS England and is updated monthly.
