I have read many of the comments and wonder if anyone can help me. Last May, I had an operation for spinal decompression, 5 discs were involved; sadly it was not successful; I have permanent pain in my left leg, ditto back ache, and the consultant and my GP have both given the impression it is just bad luck and that it! How can I do something to be able to walk more than a few yards without resting my left leg; I am gradually becoming completely disabled. I take gabapentin, not sure if it helps at all. Exercise is almost out of the question, the pain is too acute. Anyone else out there managed to overcome this? Do I ask for another operation, possibly fusion? Any advice will be gratefully received!
