im not really sure why there are so many people taking "no" for an answer from there gp when they are clearly in a lot of pain?? i had my sciatica re-occur in july 2010 and went to my gp and DEMANDED an mri scan and got this reasonably quick due to me having a lot of pain. The scan was done and showed i had problems at l5-S1 and i was given an appointment for an operation to have removed and have had no real problem with my sciatica since. (Was in hospital for 36hrs then allowed home) Forget the painkillers and pain management just put your foot down!! Hope this has helped. Im 47 years old.
