Get involved

The NHS Constitution outlines the rights and responsibilities of patients, the public and staff in relation to NHS care. It makes clear what you can expect from the NHS, and how you can play a part in making it even better.

Below are different ways to get involved, interact with services and influence and improve local health and social care services.

Join your LINk

Local Involvement Networks (LINks) are independent networks of individuals and community groups, such as charities and youth groups, who work together to improve local health and social care services.

Join a PPG

Patient Participation Groups (PPGs) allow GP surgeries and their patients to work together to improve services and aid communication.

Give feedback

Patients can voice concerns, comments or complaints about the care they have received from any health or social care provider.

Contact your local PALS

Officers from the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) are available in all hospitals and can offer advice, support and information to patients, their families and their carers.

Be a foundation trust member

NHS foundation trusts were created to ensure that services reflect what local people want and need. Anyone can become a member of their local trust and help in its running.
