Michelle Scott-Lee travelled all round the world as a singer in pop band Liberty X. She shares her tips for keeping healthy when flying.

How often to do you travel by plane?

"At least once a month and usually four times a month."

What exercises do you do on a plane?

"I always get up and stretch my legs and I also do simple stretches and yoga moves to keep my circulation going."

Do you follow any health or beauty routine when planning for a long-haul flight?

"Yes, I make sure I moisturise my whole body thoroughly. I also drink a lot of water for two days before I fly to hydrate my skin, and I have a shower on the day of my flight so I feel fresh."

What kind of items do you pack in your hand luggage to help you with jet lag?

"I always take my own cushion as it helps me sleep better."

What do you eat and drink on the plane and how often?

"I eat fruit if I can get some, and drink lots of water. Sometimes I have a glass of bubbly as it makes me sleepy! I eat the meals most of the time but they do contain a lot of salt so I certainly never add any more."

Do you try to sleep on the plane and if so, do you wait until before or after the in-flight meal?

"I always have my meal and then go to sleep."

Do you ensure that your schedule allows you time to sleep at your destination before starting work?

"Yes, I always make sure I have time to sleep. It’s essential for being alert."

If you were only allowed to take one thing on the plane to help you with your jet lag/journey, what would it be?

"Fresh fruit and lots of it."
