This short animation from 1948 showed the public how the new NHS services would affect an ordinary family.

The film was produced by husband and wife filmmakers John Halas and Joy Batchelor, who made many Public Information Films during and after the Second World War. Several used the character Charley, who represented the average man in the street, to illustrate the message.
