Complications of Paget's disease

Sarcoma

Sarcoma is a rare but serious complication of Paget’s disease. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that starts in the bone cells.

It is estimated that 0.5-1% of people with Paget’s disease will go on to develop sarcoma later in life, usually many years after Paget’s disease was first diagnosed.

Most cases of sarcoma that are associated with Paget’s disease occur in people who are over 70.

See Useful links for more information about cancer of the bone.
