Glomerulonephritis

  • Overview

Preventing glomerulonephritis

Glomerulonephritis is not usually preventable. Early detection and treatment, particularly for those who have conditions that are linked to glomerulonephritis, such as kidney or liver disease, are important in order to avoid other complications developing.

Streptococcal throat infections should also be treated as early as possible using antibiotics, in order to prevent kidney damage from occurring.
