Making a Change4Life doesn’t need to be difficult. With a little help, it can be really rewarding and fun! Here are some suggestions for small, easy, steps you can make to help put you and your family happily on your way.

Parsnip

1. Mash
boil, drain, mash and serve as part of a main course.
2. Roast
lightly brush with a small amount of vegetable oil, roast at 180ºC or gas mark 4 for 25-30 minutes, blot off any excess oil and enjoy with your Sunday dinner.
3. Soup
chop and add to a vegetable soup for an extra special winter warming taste.
4. Crisp
try making your own crisps for a healthy snack alternative. Peel and slice using a potato slicer. Lightly rub a little olive oil into each slice, spread evenly on a baking tray and cook in a pre-heated oven at 160ºC or gas mark 3 for 25 minutes, turning half way through. Sprinkle with a little paprika or mild curry powder if you like yours with a kick.
5. Stew
add to any stew or soup for a delicious nutty flavour.
