Carrot

1. Add
chop up small and throw in a handful to their favourites like tomato based pasta sauces, lasagne, spag bol or cottage pie.
2. Dip
chopped carrots are a sweet and yummy treat raw and dunked, in houmous, low-fat yogurt dips or salsa.
3. Open
tinned baby carrots can be a great way to get kids to give them a go - you could try sticking them in mashed potato to make a hedgehog.
4. Snack
pack carrot batons or a few baby carrots in their lunchbox as a healthy alternative to crisps.
5 Stir fry
cut long thin strips and stir fry with other vegetables - they’ll stay crunchy and sweet.
6. Mash
on its own, or with potato and/or swede.
7. Juice
on its own or mixed with unsweetened orange juice - sweet, but not too sharp and 1 of their 5 A DAY too.
8. Grate
lots of kids prefer to eat carrots raw, grating them makes them easy to eat and looks more appealing to the fussy eater. You could also add grated carrot to sauces.
