Disability, culture and community

The BBC Ouch blog is a good place to start to find out what's on, what's happening and what's new for people with a whole range of disabilities. You can also read about accessible events, attractions, jobs, healthcare, education and local services on the Disabled Go website.

Disability, social care and funding

You can find most of the information that you need about social care on your local authority’s website. However, you can also find useful information about social care on the Department of Health’s social care webpages.

Disability and employment

Find out about schemes that can help people with disabilities get a job or stay in work. You can also find information on Directgov about accessible work schemes and programmes. There are also many charities such as the Shaw Trust that provide support for disabled people seeking work and living independently.
